Welcome to Picture Studios. What can you tell us about yourselves?
Instagrant: My name is Grant Mahan. I’m a painter and I’m currently a Master Of Fine Arts candidate at Winthrop University in South Carolina.
Hentailina: My name is Camille. I’m a textile(s) artist. I also do painting and other mixed media art.
Headlss.b: My name is Brennan Frizzell. I like to paint. I sell dolls. I can make handbags and all types of stuff like that.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the arts?
Hentailina: What inspired me to do art is just genuinely being really bad at everything else so I kind of have no other choice…ha ha.
Instagrant: I had a great high school art teacher who helped me realize that art was just my passion and just a part of who I am. I also realized that I have a real passion for teaching others.
Headlss.b : My inspiration for doing art is really nothing. I just picked it up one day and here I am now.
What is your favorite thing about creating art?
Instagrant: It’s that feeling when you know exactly what you’re going to do and you just lock in on painting and just reach this meditative and mindful state.
Hentailina: My favorite thing about the creative process is that I have really bad anger issues so whenever I’m doing art I just really take out my frustration and it’s a lot cheaper than therapy.
Headlss.b: My favorite part about painting is just the part of actually doing it. I never actually think when I’m doing it. I’m just there in that moment and just doing whatever.
What do you hope people get from your art?
Headlss.b: The only thing I hope people get from my work is maybe a headache or whatever comes to their mind. Honestly, art is about free expression and whatever you get from the piece.
Instagrant: Just good vibes…ha ha.
